Burn Mission

Burn Mission, Ru'aa

After several months of intense preparation and fund raising activities, CINI and our donors are celebrating the recent arrival of three children to Shriners Hospital in Sacramento, California.  CINI is very grateful to our partner, Shriners Hospital, where doctors and staff are renowned for their work in the treatment of severe burns.  We also acknowledge and thank the U.S., Iraq, and Jordanian governments for permission to help these children.

The success of this mission was dependent upon the open hearts and homes of host families in Sacremento.  The Masjid Annur Islamic Center has partnered with CINI on this mission and members have been excpetionally giving with their time and hospitable in welcoming these children into their homes.  This arrangement makes it much more comfortable for the visiting families who have never been to the U.S. and are facing major medical treatment.

The children and guardians arrived on January 19 around midnight and Brenda McFerrin, President of CINI, was there to greet them along with the host families.  After a very short night, the host families brought them to Shriner's to meet the doctors.

The first surgery occurred on Monday, January 26.  We will keep updates coming.

Below you can learn more about each child. We are still in need of funds for this mission. If you would like to help, please go to our Giving Page for information on how to donate.
