Acute Care Mission
CINI's Acute Care Mission is our only mission that is not limited to a particular time of year. It is care at the ready for children who need immediate, life saving medical intervention. When CINI accepts an acute case, every effort is made to find the child medical care in their region. Only after we have exhausted all regional options does CINI contact our partners in the United States. Our very first case, Shams, was an acute mission and you can watch how her extraordinary story unfolded on our Video Gallery. These cases are particularly heart wrenching as they are usually due to catastrophic tragedies, like in Shams' case, or rapidly advancing illnesses, like that of Meriam's.
