Heart Mission
Salim
Salim, a four-year old boy from Africa referred to CINI by Jennifer Breiman of Village Aid, is suffering from Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a congnital heart defect. TOF is the most common cyanotic heart defect and the cause of blue baby syndrome.
CINI has already contributed $85 for testing to determine the precise need for surgery. Dr. Mark Turrentine interpreted Salim's results and suggested that Salim should be operated on as soon as possible in order to avoid mounting risks. Salim's surgery is scheduled to take place in January 2010. We will continue to provide updates concerning his progress.
